THE GALLIPOLI CAMPAIGN
For Australia, the landing of Australian troops at Gallipoli on 25 April, marks the most important national occasion, ANZAC Day. Each year, in Australia and around the world, ceremonies of remembrance are held on that date. Thousands of Australians travel to Gallipoli, Lemnos (where the ANZACs were based during the Campaign) and other key sites for the commemoration events.
